ADMER® Adhesive Resin is a modified polyolefin with functional
groups, designed to bond to a variety of polyolefins, ionomers,
polyamides, ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), polyesters (PET), polycarbonates,
polystyrenes and metals such as steel and aluminum.
Adhesive Resin Cosmetic Packaging Applications
The tie layer adhesive can be extruded by applying the co-extrusion
process for film, cup, tray, tube and bottle applications. The adhesive
resin is featured in personal care and consumer packaging for skincare
and body care and toiletries such as:
 |
 |
Body lotion containers |
| |
 |
Make up bottles |
| |
 |
Oval and round tubes |
Adhesive Resin Pharmaceutical Packaging Applications
The ADMER® Adhesive resin facilitates the development of high
performance healthcare packaging, which can be used in applications
such as:
 |
 |
Tubing |
| |
 |
PTP packaging |
| |
 |
Bottles |
Industrial Packaging Applications
In industrial markets, the tie layer adhesive is ideal for piping
and bottle applications.
Adhesive Resin Food Packaging Applications
The use of this low permeation barrier material in packaging structures
restricts the passage of oxygen, flavor and odor permeation. Currently,
the adhesive resin is used as a permeation barrier in bottle and
container packaging for:
 |
 |
Ketchup |
| |
 |
Mayonnaise |
| |
 |
BBQ sauce |
| |
 |
Salad dressing |
| |

The ADMER® adhesive resin exhibits durable adhesion during
and following secondary processing such as thermoforming, sterilization
and orientation. The co-extrusion coating of ADMER® with other
plastics onto paper or foil has yielded other opportunities in the
food packaging area, which the company is pursuing. ADMER® grades
are certified and comply with FDA, EEC directives, and Japan Hygienic
Olefin and Styrene Plastics Association (JOSPA) regulations. ADMER®
grades may be used in direct food contact.
